Arizona’s Neoconfederate Insurrectionists Vote to Nullify the 14th Amendment And Join a Confederacy

I am sure our squishy-soft Sally Sensitive political reporters will take exception to the above caption, but truth be told, this is in essence what occurred on Tuesday in the Senate Appropriations Committee.

Photo Arizona's Senate Appropriations Committee "became the first state legislative committee in the nation to pass a package of bills intended to challenge the practice of granting citizenship to children born in the U.S. to illegal immigrants." Arizona immigration bills aim for bigger crackdown. "It also approved an "omnibus" bill that would prevent undocumented children from attending school, prohibit illegal immigrants from driving or buying a vehicle and deny illegal immigrants the ability to obtain a marriage license in Arizona."

Arizona is now South Carolina circa 1832 and 1860. When will Arizona's Neoconfederate insurrectionists move from merely asserting the long-discredited "nullification" theory to a shooting war — a Civil War — against the federal government?

Gould Sen. Ron Gould (Teahadist – Lake Havasu City) is the primary sponsor of the Senate bills aimed at challenging the interpretation of the 14th Amendment. He is carrying these bills for our de facto governor and hate-monger-in-chief Sen. Russell Pearce (Teahadist – Mesa), who promised his GOP caucus that he would not bring up these divisive bills until after the legislature addressed the state budget crisis in order to get their votes to become Senate President. Yeah, he lied. He played his GOP caucus, or more accurately I suspect, the GOP caucus played along with his charade.

The Arizona Capitol Times adds Senate panel passes birthright bills:

As introduced, SB1309 creates and defines an “Arizona citizenship.”

The second measure, SB1308, will direct Arizona’s governor to enter into a compact with other states to essentially create two sets of birth certificates, one for children whose parents are here illegally, and another for those whose parents are citizens or who are in the country legally.

The two measures were previously held in the Senate Judiciary Committee after that panel’s chairman and the bill’s primary author, Sen. Ron Gould, [Teahadist – Lake Havasu City], concluded he didn’t have the votes to get them through.

Senate President Russell Pearce, who is shepherding the bills, decided to reassign the bills to the Appropriations panel, which didn’t disappoint their backers.

The legislation’s next step is the Senate Rules Committee, where it should have an easier time passing. Pearce, author of SB1070, chairs this committee.

But the big question is whether the legislation has enough support to survive a full Senate vote.

What's next from these Neoconfederate insurrectionists using the long-discredited "nullification" theory to secede from the Union? Are we going to have an official holiday in Arizona for Jefferson Davis Birthday (the first Monday in June)?
