(UPDATED) AZ AG Mayes and Arizona’s Democratic Congressional Delegation Condemn Trump’s Outrageous Executive Orders

In moves to take the United States back to its past and save money to pay for his tax cuts for the rich, Donald Trump signed Executive Orders this evening to take the country out of the Paris Climate Accord and the World Health Organization.

This is the second time Trump has pulled out of the Paris Climate Accord. He did it the first time in 2017. President Biden brought the nation back into it when he began his term in 2021.

Claiming at an inaugural event that pulling out of the Climate Agreement would save the United States a trillion dollars, this is the latest in Mr. Trumps quest to thwart attempts at developing clean energy alternatives to fossil fuels.

Good luck selling this to Republican Representatives and Senators who have constituents in high paying white, blue, and green collar jobs in manufacturing plants developing clean energy technologies.

Commenting on social media, Arizona Representative Yassamin Ansari posted:

Arizona Representative Greg Stanton posted:

With regard to the World Health Organization, Trump thinks he could save the United States millions by withdrawing. He soured on this institution because of its Coronavirus policies in 2020.

This is an organization that monitors global health threats like the current bird flu situation and helps coordinate responses to those threats. This does not sound like the smartest stance to take.

In a move designed to harm the children of illegal immigrants, Trump also signed an Unconstitutional Executive Order to take away birthright citizenship which is guaranteed by the Fourteenth Amendment.

Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes offered her rebuke of the repressive Trump action, posting on social media:

Senator Mark Kelly reacted to this outrage by posting:

Senator Ruben Gallego posted:

Representative Stanton also expressed his opposition to the Unconstitutional Trump Executive Order, posting:

On the humanitarian front, Trump’s Executive Order suspending refugee programs has apparently stopped the entry of 1,660 Afghans, many of them children who were hoping to reunite with their family members already in the United States. Some of them are also related to United States Service Members.

Representative Ansari posted in response to this.

  1. I wonder if immigration raids will occur at Trump’s golf courses? Its likely, with his history, there will be many illegal aliens working there for peanuts.
