At the McCain Ranch: McCain Discusses the Surge

by David Safier

Rifleman_logo_2 McCain takes a load off his feet after an especially tough week on the campaign trail. He gives us a new explanation of his earlier explanations of the surge.

McCain Ranch Surge
Son, I want to teach you a wonderful new word — SURGE. I ain’t gonna teach you what it means, ’cause that’s the wonderful thing about the word SURGE. It takes on whatever meaning you want to give it.

Let’s say I deputize a bunch o’ good folks to chase some bad guys outa town. That’s what you call a SURGE o’ deputies. But some people might say, the bad guys were already heading out theirselves, it warn‘t no surge that made them leave. So I say, “Heck, one of them bad guys was a doc, right? A bone cutter. Sheriff MacFarland told me he started his ‘anti-SURGEon plan’ a long time ago.” Hear that SURGE word in there, son? So I say, that‘s when the surge started working.

Pardon me, youngun, I think I feel a surge comin’ on. . . . Ah, that‘s better. That there surge was a real winner, wasn’t it?
