Attorney General Candidate Kris Mayes Goes After Mark Brnovich’s Conduct in Office

It seems current Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich will do almost anything to secure the Republican Nomination for the United States Senate seat in 2022.

Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich

Like working to make it harder for people to vote. Just look at last summers Supreme Court ruling, brought in part by Brnovich, that effectively gutted portions of the Voting Rights Act.

Or attempting to make nice with the extreme right by pursuing draconian measures to obstruct a woman’s right to choose.

Brnovich’s conduct has earned the condemnation of both the Arizona Board of Regents and the Secretary of States office. Both institutions have filed ethics complaints against Brnovich for:

In making a Faustian bargain with the extreme right, Mr. Brnovich has sacrificed women’s rights and voter rights. He has sold his political (maybe his immortal) soul in the hopes of getting the nomination for a United States seat in 2022.

Attorney General Candidate Kris Mayes would Protect Arizonans Again from Criminals.

In response to a request to comment from Blog for Arizona, Democratic Party Attorney General Candidate Kris Mayes blasted Mr. Brnovich’s conduct in office and stated that, if elected to office in November, 2022, she would protect Arizonans again from criminals. She commented:

“The top priorities of the Attorney General’s office must be to protect the people of Arizona and stand up for our rights. In Mark Brnovich’s dismal job performance, we see a perversion of those priorities: he has filed lawsuit after lawsuit to limit our rights, settle political scores and win over campaign donors on the far right.

“What kind of Attorney General sues the federal government to take health insurance coverage away from hundreds of thousands of people? What kind of Attorney General sues our public universities because he believes some of our students should be paying higher tuition? What kind of Attorney General asks the Supreme Court to interfere in the private decisions of families reckoning with devastating medical emergencies? I’ll tell you what kind: a cowardly weather vane of a man who uses his office to pursue higher office instead of protecting the people he was elected to serve.

“I will return the Attorney General’s office to its original mission of protecting Arizonans from criminals and con artists, especially those who would attack our constitutional rights.”

The Arizona Attorney Generals office needs a leader that defends the State Constitution and pursues a justice agenda.

Not a political one.

Mark Brnovich has proven his agenda is political advancement, not pursuing justice or defending women’s and voter’s constitutional rights.

It is time for a new Attorney General to come in that will put the Constitution and rights of the people first.

It is time for Mark Brnovich to go and retire permanently from public service.

Senator Mark Kelly will probably do that job in November, 2022 should Mr. Brnovich be the nominee of his party for the United States Senate.

Blog for Arizona did reach out to the Diego Rodriguez and Bob McWhirter campaigns for Attorney General but did not receive a response.

  1. Shocking when you are a victim of this poorly run , the right hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing state office . The licensing dept ELIZABETH A CAMPBELL (BETH) is out of control. Manufacturing cases, chasing judges to sign her way after closing arguments, using anyone as a so called ‘witness’ to nothing ! She didn’t have a case , went on a witch hunt and is the star pettifogger for the board of nursing . Her cohorts , in a kangaroo court . There’s more what Brnovich office has done !! SHAMEFUL .
