“Life in the Universe” 7 week lecture series at UA

Starting up next Monday and for 6 consecutive Mondays, the UA College of Science is sponsoring their spring lecture series on Life in the Universe.  All for free as usual at 7 p.m., at Centennial Hall, 1020 E. University Blvd. Tucson, AZ.

The 2015 UA Science Lecture Series explores our Universe at molecular, biological, planetary and cosmic scales to ask ‘What is life?’ and how do we recognize it? Life as we know it produces complex order. Earth’s many life forms are diverse and continually changing through birth, growth, and evolution. To understand life in the Universe we ask: What environments produce life and which attributes make something alive? How does life change? Is there life in our Solar System, or on one of countless exoplanets? Is there a connection between life on Earth and life elsewhere? Or are we alone?

New location for Martin Luther King Day March & Rally

The MLK March and Celebration will take place on Monday,  January 19 at 9 a.m.   Participants will march from Santa Rita Park, 401 E. 22nd Street (corner of N. 4th Avenue)  to Armory Park, 221 S. 6th Ave (NE corner of E. 13th Street), Tucson, AZ.  There will be a rally and program starting at 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Armory Park, across from the Tucson Children’s Museum. 

 (Previous years this march on the MLK Holiday  started at the UA Mall and marched to Reid Park).
