AZ Democratic Party Progressive Council Votes to Recommend Removal of Chair Branscomb

ADP’s Progressive Council, the largest Council within the Arizona Democratic Party, met yesterday via Zoom and voted to take a public position on the recall meeting coming up on July 16th for Arizona’s State Committee Members. The vote result was:

Vote 1: Whether to Take a Public Stance on the Retaining/Removing the Chair

  • YES (in favor of taking a public stance): 63 (63%)
  • NO (against taking a public stance): 29 (29%)
  • ABSTAIN: 8 (8%)

Outcome: The majority voted in favor (63%) of taking a public stance.

Vote 2: What the Council’s Public Stance Should Be

  • Remove the Chair: 65 (69%)
  • Retain the Chair: 19 (20%)
  • ABSTAIN: 10 (11%)

Outcome: The majority voted to publicly support removing the Chair (69%).

Expect further communication prior to and during the July 16th recall meeting regarding this outcome from the Progressive Council.
