Two recent events have prompted President Biden to take the radical action of sending ex-President Trump to imprisonment in the Guantanamo Bay detention camp.
First of all, the recent Supreme Court decision confirmed that a President has complete immunity for official acts, and the president has undertaken such an act now that Mr. Trump presents an imminent danger to democracy in our nation.
Secondly, as noted about the recent debate in the Phildelphia Inquirer, “There was only one person at the debate who does not deserve to be running for president. The sooner Trump exits the stage, the better off the country will be.” Taking this warning seriously, President Biden has moved Mr. Trump very far off the stage.
Mr. Trump had said that he would be a dictator “on day one”, meaning on January 20, 2025, assuming his victory in the election. Since the Supreme Court has supported such a capability of the presidency, President Biden got an early start, wasting no time in ridding the country of a clear and present danger. No longer will ten million productive residents fear internment and deportation; no more will expert professionals in our government departments fear replacement by political hacks. We can continue to fight climate change and pass stringent ethics rules for the Supreme Court. The list goes on and on.
Of course, there was one small downside to this action: by accepting the implicit powers granted by the Supreme Court, President Biden proactively ended the democracy as we knew it.
Oh, well.

The Supreme Court, NOT President Biden, proactively ended the democracy, ended the rule of law where no one is above the law by giving Trump immunity thereby delaying his criminal trial after the election. The Supreme Court justices gave themselves the power along with the president to rule the country, by ending the federal agencies with experts who regulate our government for safety of the people.
The reality is chilling and too serious to joke about. Get informed, read and fight against PROJECT 2025 — what the Trumpsters plan next starting on DAY ONE if they win. No one will be laughing then, except the handful who usurped the power on the eve of the 4th of July, to control America “land of the free” —- with plans for retribution and to go after their political enemies . All our energy should be spent making sure Trump does NOT win or our country will not be recognizable as we have known it.
Of course. And like so many here, I do what I can to defeat Trump and the Arizona mini-Trumps. But there are times when I would rather laugh than cry. So occasionally I write some satire.
Why not send trump and his sycophants to Gitmo in the name of NatSec. He can also re-formulate SCOTUS to just 3 members and, just before his term ends, pardon himself and his family for eternity. As a final act, he can rescind SCOTUS ruling on presidential immunity forever.

Thank you, Michael. At one point I considered adding “this is satire, by the way” but it kinda ruins a joke to say “this is a joke.” Apparently someone needed to point it out, though. And if someone is still confused, I don’t actually want any President to abuse their power, even to punish someone who has done the country harm.
Biden winning the 2024 presidential election is still a time fraught with turmoil. Trump supporters will not go quietly away in the night. They are armed and dangerous, a clear and present danger. It is the best of times, and the worst of times.
