Big. Brass. Clanking.

I strongly agree with most of what Wafa Sultan says in this interview on Al Jazeera. She takes on the hypocrisy, spiritual totalitarianism, and violence within some of Islam’s leadership.

While watching this, I kept thinking, "This lady is going to get herself killed!"’ You may not agree with some of what she says, but you gotta respect her courage in saying it to the whole Arab world.

Much of what she says can be applied directly to the fundamentalist and evangelic Christian leadership in this country, and needs to be directly addressed by public intellectuals in this country.
