Tucson’s widely-loved progressive broadcaster returns to 1030 KVOI AM radio on Saturday, June 6, in the 3 PM slot. His recognizable, mellifluous voice and curmudgeonly take on issues returns on his Political Forum interview show.

Scott at 77 has made more comebacks than The Beatles. He interviews Democratic, Republican, and independent candidates and elected officials, community leaders, and consultants about the current politics.
John has invited me to open his first comeback show on May 30.
“With all of the right-wing yammering on the air, every time I listen to the radio I want to crash my car into a telephone pole,” Scott said. “But, I ask myself, ‘why destroy the car?'” he said in a 2016 interview.
Broadcasting for three decades, his show offers balanced interviews and thought-provoking debate. In 2013, the Tucson Advertising Federation gave Scott the Golden Mic Award in recognition of his career.
“We moved the show to five different stations through the years,” Scott said in 2013. “We were at KTUC, then KTKT, KVOI, the Jolt, then back at KVOI.” His career also included radio stints at KHYT and KCUB, and in TV news for several stations. Scott then spent two years at KEVT, before the station went dark in 2015.

What happened? I’m listening to 1030AM radio, and no John C Scott today? Maybe next week?
