Very quick update from the legislature…
The Senate adjourned today's special session meeting because they still don't have the votes to finish the job without Democratic votes.
Apparently, Russell Pearce is the culprit this time, with some objections to the ending of a small tax credit fueling his opposition.
Two Senators were absent today, Frank Antenori and Amanda Aguirre. While Aguirre is a Democrat and nobody in R leadership cares to talk to her (or any D) in an effort to get her on board with the budget, Antenori is an R Kool-Aid drinker of great note, so his missing vote may have made a difference.
Tomorrow's attempt at passing a budget will commence at 1:15 p.m. How soon it will end, and the inevitable lawsuits will begin, is anybody's guess.
