  1. I’ll add “Hear-hear for civility”.

Waldron, I would imagine BfA doesn’t comment much on this since Arizona state laws and Arizona state officials uniformly favor imprisonment for cannabis use (whether medically justified or not) there isn’t much left for the feds to harass.

  2. Pardon my lack of relevance, but I noticed the first substantial departure from the Bush administration since Obama’s inauguration. It’s a very positive move and, although I’d rather stop the war crimes, I guess any scrap is better than nothing.

It’s strange that I haven’t found any mention of this here.

The feds are no longer going to intervene in instances of state sanctioned use of medical marijuana. A big departure from Bush policy.
The Boston Globe published a statement by Doctor Lester Grinspoon, MD,

“Doctors and nurses have seen that for many patients, cannabis is more useful, less toxic, and less expensive than the conventional medicines prescribed for diverse syndromes and symptoms, including multiple sclerosis, Crohn’s disease, migraine headaches, severe nausea and vomiting, convulsive disorders, the AIDS wasting syndrome, chronic pain, and many others.”

Although I voted for the other black presidential candidate, I and many others thank the Obama administration for this move. Finally, some change!
