Over the last week, both Kirsten Engel and Daniel Hernandez have released ads showcasing why they should be the Democratic Nominee in the new Arizona Congressional District Six.
Tucson Mayor Regina Romero explained her endorsement for Engel in her ad.
The Tucson leader highlighted Ms. Engel’s positions on protecting water, combatting climate change, safeguarding voting rights, and defending a woman’s right to choose. Mayor Romero closed the ad by saying “Kirsten knows how to get things done and is the fighter we need.”
Former President Barack Obama is the star at the beginning of the Daniel Hernandez ad.
It is at a White House ceremony where Mr. Hernandez, before he was a State Representative, is recognized for helping save lives when Representative Gaby Giffords was shot in 2011.
Mr. Hernandez then explains how he has fought for gun control and “against extremists” on other issues like a woman’s right to choose and voting rights.
He closed the ad by stating: “When I get to Washington, I’m going to do the same thing because this is a fight of life or death.”
