Come Today to DGT’s Happy Hour Endorsement Party for TreDavon Rhodes for TUSD School Board

► See and hear TreDavon Rhodes at the Democrats of Greater Tucson Happy Hour today, January 21, from 4 to  6 pm. at Brother John’s restaurant. In its first endorsement in 2026, TheDGT.org endorsed TreDavon Rhodes for election to the TUSD Governing Board.

A former member of the DGT Board, Tre is running to bring a fresh perspective to TUSD and ensure that, like him, all students have the opportunity to succeed in our district.

The Happy Hour is at Brother John’s restaurant, 1801 N Stone Ave, Tucson, AZ 85705. We will make a presentation of a $2,500 donation to his campaign.

Today, TreDavon studies Political Science and Economics at the University of Arizona and is active in the UA College Democrats. See https://www.trefortusd.com/about.

TRE IS RUNNING TO:

  • Address the potential closure of 14 public schools in TUSD due to declining enrollment.
  • Bring his lived experience as a graduate of Sabino High School to families in TUSD.
  • Serve as a voice for the governed – TUSD’s 35,000 students.
  • Add staff and support for Career and Technical Education programs.
  • Find new ways to fund TUSD.
  • Rein in the fraud-ridden ESA school voucher program, which is stealing money directly from public schools.

MLK Celebration in Tucson

DGT sponsored a table at the Martin Luther King celebration on Monday, and it was a big success.

We had dozens of curious visitors at the table, and we introduced them to TreDavon Rhodes. It was a gorgeous, sunny day, with music, a big crowd, lots of booths, and good food.

We spoke with many angry and frightened Democrats, and we assured them that DGT is working diligently and locally to highlight Democratic candidates.

Susie Anderson attracted many kids to her spinning wheel, where they could win a sticker or a piece of candy. The kids, of course, drew their parents to the table.

Thanks to Susie Anderson for the inspiration, and to DGT President Joe Daniszewski and members Jim Stevenson, Mike Bryan, Ann Stormes, Lee Oler, Christina Early and yours truly for taking part. We had the perfect location at table #1 on the entrance sidewalk.
