Two Republic reporters won awards and a bit of cash from the Scripps Howard Foundation honoring the best journalism of 2010.

All the biggies were part of the competition — the NY Times, the LA Times, etc. — so it's quite an honor for these two to make the cut.
The Republic's "Arizona's Immigration Debate" was a finalist in Public Service Reporting in the Public Service Reporting category, but no reporter is listed.
