The residents of Arizona House Congressional District (CD) Eight should be embarrassed and done with Debbie what is my name today Lesko.

At a House hearing earlier this week on vaccine distribution plans, the CD Eight Trump Zone and Fox Island resident said:

“I worked with people that are Hispanic. I mean they’re very good workers. You know, we’re compassionate people, but for goodness sakes, we have to take care of American citizens, or people that are here legally, first. I’m just not going to be able to explain to my senior citizens that we’re giving away the vaccines to people that (are) here illegally. I just think that’s totally wrong.”

Well, it did not take long for the fecal matter to hit the fan from the world of reality.

CD Seven Representative Ruben Gallego, according to reporting by Ronald Hansen of AZ Central, tweeted:

“In a state that is 30% Latino, she can’t even claim to have Latino friends. Just worked with them.”

Michael Muscato, the 2020 CD Eight Democratic Nominee and candidate for 2022 commented:

“Debbie Lesko knows nothing about work, science, the constitution, or immigration. More than a decade of targeted discrimination due to a lack of knowledge, consideration, and effort is proof.

Debbie wants to re-write history by fooling CD8 seniors into thinking she cares about them. Let us not forget that less than a year ago Lesko was out campaigning for Donald Trump and calling this virus a Democratic hoax. She then voted against the Families First Act Corona Virus Relief bill. She then opposed a raised to unemployment and oversight of the PPP program for small businesses devastated. That’s how much she cares about us here in Arizona.

While she was doing that, I was out delivering food and supplies to seniors throughout CD8 regardless of their demographic, political affiliation, or socio-economic status. That’s what people who care about people do – they step up.

Racism, discrimination, and manipulation of facts have no place in the office. The science clearly shows we need to inoculate as many people as we can as quickly as possible. The virus doesn’t care about status and this is also a non-issue that Lesko is using to deflect away from her own failures and that of the previous administration. Talk about do-nothing!

Arizonans deserve better than this representation.”

Lesko attempted to clarify her comments, stating:

“Arizona seniors are in desperate need of COVID-19 vaccines. I stand by my support for the amendment that puts American citizens and legal residents first before illegal immigrants to get the COVID-19 vaccine. Taken in context, my remarks clearly were aimed at ensuring that seniors receive taxpayer-funded vaccines before illegal immigrants. During debate on the amendment, after being interrupted several times, I said something that could be misinterpreted, but it certainly was not my intent.”

Bull Fecal Matter.

Nowhere in the first Lesko statement cited above does she mention illegal immigrants.

And in the statement she said before her comment on Hispanics, she said:

“My Democratic colleagues are putting illegal immigrants over them. If I read it right, all this amendment says is put Americans first. Put Americans first, and once they’re all vaccinated, then you can go to the illegal immigrants.”

Notice how she makes the mental link of illegal immigrants to Hispanics.

It is reasonable, from the first and third statements, to conclude what Ms. Lesko’s intent and prejudices are.

It is important to vaccinate everyone in the country. That includes citizens, legal immigrants, and illegal immigrants.

As Democratic Illinois Representative Jan Schakowsky said:

“The vaccine has no clue about where you come from, whether you have papers, whether you’re considered a citizen or legal or not. We have people that are working as front-line health care workers and working in various industries, and when that group is qualified to get a vaccine to say now you have to prove whether or not you’re a citizen … it makes no sense. This is dangerous.”

Debbie Lesko has done virtually nothing in her over two years of congressional “service” to indicate she is worthy of the support of the residents of CD Eight.

The voters did not realize that in 2020.

Hopefully, with comments like the one she made at the House hearing, they will recognize that she does not deserve a return to Congress in 2022.

Hopefully.
