Delina DiSanto vies for a Second Chance to Defeat Paul Gosar in 2022

Whenever good public service is discussed in most mainstream circles, Paul Gosar’s name hardly ever comes up.

However, when election denialism, conspiracy theory advocate, white nationalism. Alt-right ideology, and potential collaborator in the January 6, 2021, Domestic Terrorist attack is mentioned, it does not take long for the Arizona Congressional District Four Representative’s name to surface.

His name and time in the House of Representatives will be written in the history books as a dark time for the district.

It already has in his family circle, where his siblings have endorsed the Democratic Nominees against their brother in both the 2018 and 2020 elections.

Delina DiSanto, the Democratic Nominee against Gosar in 2020, wants another opportunity to win the seat he holds in the House of Representatives.

Running on a slogan of “Let’s get back to what’s important to you,” the nurse and former Senatorial Aide to Colorado’s Ben Nighthorse Campbell, DiSanto wants to work on the issues that would help the people in Congressional District Four that Gosar has ignored. These include:

  • Strengthening health care.
  • Creating Jobs.
  • Protecting the water supply.

If elected, she would be the people’s champion, not the reactionary fringe and plutocratic special interests Mr. Gosar worships.

Ms. DiSanto graciously took the time to answer questions about her campaign for the House of Representatives.

The questions and responses are below.

1) Please tell the readers two reasons you would like to become the next House Representative from Arizona House Congressional District Four

“I truly believe that the people in Congressional District Four are worth fighting for. Back in 2020, I was calling Paul Gosar out on his conspiracy theories and his devotion to mining interests instead of the people in general. He has not voted for COVID relief. We must pass the American Jobs bill, and start by strengthening the middle and working classes. He is not working for the district, only for special interests. Families need a leg up, and I will be there to help them.”

2) Please tell the readers what are at least two qualifications have to serve in the House of Representatives.

  • My experience in health care. I know the system as both a nurse and working the finance side. COVID 19 has shown the shortfalls of the system and what needs to be done. Let’s stop talking about the problems and start fixing the problems.”
  • My work as a Senate aid for former Colorado Senator Ben Nighthorse Campbell. He mentored me for many years and showed me the ways of Washington and interreacting with people at town hall meetings helped me understand the needs pertinent to them in rural communities especially with regards to issues like water.”

3) In your opinion, what are the three most important issues facing Arizonans and the American People? Please explain.

  • “Strengthening the economy and creating jobs.
  • Improving our health care system. We must have a health care plan that covers all Americans. Health care is a right and all Americans, especially after COVID 19, should have it.
  • The water supply should be protected, and the sustainability should be ensured now and in the future.”

4) Please explain your views on border security and immigration reform.

“I believe strongly in immigration reform. If we had a strong policy right now, we would not have a crisis at the southern border. We need to have a better way and more resources. We need more judges and more processors. We need to take the Kennedy/McCain bill from the 2000s and use that as a template to pass a comprehensive immigration reform plan.”

5) Please explain your views on funding the police and law enforcement reform.

“Black Lives Matter period. I do not believe in defunding the police. I agree with President Biden that we need to have police reform in our country.”

6) Is there anything not covered in the first five questions that you would like the readers to know? Please explain.

“I just want the people to know that I am here for them and am listening to their needs. I am not here for the big corporations and give tax breaks to the rich. I am their champion and will bring their needs to Washington DC because Paul Gosar is not doing it.”
