Democrats and Republicans against Trump condemned the selection of J.D. Vance as Donald Trump’s running mate for the 2024 Presidential election.
Arizona Democratic Party Chairperson Yolanda Bejarano wrote after learning about Mr. “I Killed Roe v Wade’s’ pick:
“J.D. Vance has a long and detailed record of extremism that doesn’t align with Arizonans values. Donald Trump picked a Vice President who is in lockstep with his extreme Project 2025 agenda of banning abortion nationwide, election denialism, and cutting Social Security and Medicare. Arizonans rejected Donald Trump in 2020 because this agenda is not how we want to move our country forward, and they will do so again this November.”
Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren, on a press call for the Biden/Harris Campaign, offered:
“Trump’s VP pick is great news for the wealthiest Americans and lousy news for everyone else. The billionaires on Wall Street and Silicon Valley are cheering, but there is no joy for working people. Vance thinks seniors should get by with less… Vance calls Social Security and Medicare quote ‘the biggest roadblocks to any kind of real fiscal sanity…Vance thinks sick people should pay more… Vance has already published an op-ed in the New York Times opposing the ACA. With Trump/Vance, millions will face losing access to health insurance. Vance thinks Americans should just live with crumbling infrastructure…Vance called the legislation that invested billions into America’s roads, bridges, and transit and created thousands of good-paying union jobs a quote huge, huge mistake. Vance thinks everyone should get by with less except the billionaires...Now Vance is backing Trump as he proposes another billionaire tax break that is worth three and a half million dollars every year for every billionaire while it raises taxes on most middle-class families.”
“Elections are all about who the government works for. Joe Biden is fighting to make government work better for all Americans. Trump and Vance support cuts to Social Security, Medicare health insurance, and money that goes into roads and bridges all to pay for a three-and-a-half million dollar annual tax cut for billionaires Trump and Vance can have the billionaire vote. Joe Biden is fighting for everyone else.”
The Romney quote came before the announcement yesterday. It was the Utah Senator and 2012 Republican Presidential Nominee’s views that were expressed in his autobiography.
