Democratic Reaction to the Allegations of Andy Biggs and Paul Gosar helping Plan the January 6, 2021 Trumpist Insurrection

As AZ Central reporters and AZ Blue Meanie reported on January 10 and 11, 2021, allegations have been put forth that Arizona House Representatives Coup Plotters Andy Biggs and Paul Gosar had, along with Alabama Congressman Insurrectionist Mo “rising sea levels are caused by falling rocks” Brooks, a part in planning what would become the January 6, 2021, Trumpist insurrection at the Nation’s Capitol.

Know-Nothing Mr. Biggs has denied any part in organizing the insurrection.

Seditious Mr. Gosar and Mr. Brooks have gone mute which is both a relief and refreshing.

Trumpist Coup Plotter Mr. Brooks is also the object of a prospective censure motion because of his pre riot comments on January 6, 2021, where he said to the assembled fringe members of the Trump Zone:

“Today is the day American patriots start taking down names and kicking ass.”

Reaction among Arizona Democrats to the allegations against Biggs and Gosar has been fairly universal.

Arizona Democratic Party Chairperson Felecia Rotellini released  a statement on January 10, 2021, stating:

“Members of the United States Congress take an oath to uphold the Constitution. The recorded statements and actions of these Arizona Congressmen tragically show their part in undermining the Constitution’s prescribed election process and peaceful transfer of power. If further investigation confirms they played any role beyond encouraging a peaceful gathering and helped organize an attempted coup, they should immediately resign, be subject to the ramifications of the 14th amendment, and face the necessary criminal consequences.

This travesty reaffirms the need for competitive congressional districts that will hold our elected officials in check and not spawn the extremism exhibited by Congressmen Gosar and Biggs. Both politicians have been criticized for their ideological views fueling the divisiveness in Congress, but yet without consequence, they continue to win their re-elections by large margins.

At the December 19 Stop the Steal rally, when Arizona State Senator Sonny Borrelli introduced Gosar, he described Gosar’s district as ‘gerrymandering’ across the state. It is widely recognized that Gosar has abandoned the voters in CD 4, except those who adhere to his extreme, destructive beliefs. This year, Arizonans have the power to stop gerrymandering through our Independent Redistricting Commission (IRC). As citizens and voters, we have a duty to hold the IRC accountable to ensure new congressional districts are drawn to give all voters a voice in electing balanced leaders who understand they represent all the people.

Gerrymandered districts from the last decade have elevated the most extreme voices in the Republican Party. The results have yielded potentially treasonous officials that have proven time and again that they are more interested in advancing their radical agenda than solving the real problems facing all Arizonans. Today, the IRC’s intended purpose to create fair and competitive districts is in jeopardy – thanks to Governor Ducey’s backroom manipulations to control the IRC. As the process unfolds in the coming weeks, we must be ever vigilant and alert to ensure the members of the IRC are not tainted by ideology and the seduction of political power. Arizona’s future and, as we see today, our Country’s democracy is at stake.”

Joan Greene, the Democrat who ran against Andy Biggs in Arizona House Congressional District Five in 2018 and 2020 commented:

“In my opinion, as an American with First Amendment Rights, the allegations Ali Alexander, formerly known as Ali Akbar, crediting Congressmen Andy Biggs, Paul Gosar and Mo Brooks with organizing the January 6th, 2021 are serious.

Congressman Biggs’ spokesman statement in part says “Congressman Biggs is not aware of hearing of or meeting Mr. Alexander at any point —”

Alexander stated the allegations in a video, a twitter post, and his image along with Arizona Congressmen Biggs and Gosar are on the Arizona “Stop The Steal” December 19, 2020 event announcement. This would give people pause to believe that Biggs is at least aware of Alexander.

It has been pointed out in numerous articles that “Biggs has throughout the post-election period repeated the unfounded allegations of election fraud in Pennsylvania and called for an audit of Arizona’s election systems.”

I am not saying or implying Congressman Biggs is involved in the January 6, 2021 assault on our Capitol, but he should welcome an in-depth investigation into these allegations as he welcomed our election process.”

Delina DiSanto, the person who ran against Paul Gosar in Congressional District Four in 2020, wrote:

“Paul Gosar needs to be expelled from Congress. In his tweets these past months, he has included Ali Alexander, one of the leaders in the Stop The Steal right-wing extremist movements, and Mike Cernovich, who stated “conflict is attention”, “Once the right has some actual power, then it will be time to have an ideological civil war”, started the Hillary conspiracy theory of a pedophile ring and more outrageous rhetoric. Gosar had advertised to his followers to come to DC to take back our democracy. His circle of friends are fringe right extremists. This is dangerous behavior and his hate-filled/fear-filled rhetoric is destroying our normal checks and balances and fundamental American values. He is guilty of helping organize the Trump crowd in DC and inciting the mob to attack our Capital. This is unforgivable behavior. Gosar must be expelled.”

In many ways, it does not matter if Trumpist Coup Plotters Andy Biggs and Paul Gosar helped plan the January 6, 2021 Insurrection at the State Capitol.

If it is confirmed that they did, it would just be the icing on the cake on top of all the other seditious acts they committed in assaulting American Democracy and the electoral process since November 3, 2020.

Those acts the people know they did commit warrant expulsion from Congress.

The sooner they are kicked out of the House of Representatives, the better.

If it is found they helped plan the insurrectionist event that caused the deaths of five people, justice will be waiting for them as well.
