Democrats of Greater Tucson is for the first time offering an evening Salon to open its meetings to young and working people.
We present three progressive veterans from Common Defense, the country’s largest veteran-led organization. CD mobilizes veterans to elect leaders and promote progressive values in 2022 and beyond. Not all veterans are conservatives and Republicans.
Our kickoff DGT Salon will be hosted by 1st Vice-Chair Michael Bryan. During a salon, attendees entertain and inform one another through conversation.

Join us this Thursday, March 24, at 6:30 PM, for a Salon with Common Defense organizers from Arizona — veterans who stand up against the rising tide of racism, hate, and violence.

We have three Arizona veterans joining us to explain the mission of this wonderful progressive organization and to discuss those topics:
- Sgt. Caleb Hayter, USMC will lead off with his videos and presentation about Common Defense and its work here in Arizona.
- Sgt. Sylvia Andersh, USAF will describe her experience with Common Defense and her news-making resignation from Senator Sinema’s Veterans’ Advisory Council.
- Sgt. Michael O. Connell, USMC will describe his experience in field organizing and getting progressive veterans to vote.
Once the room is out of questions, we invite participants to stay for open social talk and tummeling. Unlike our regular meetings, we are not putting a firm end on time on Salons. We want to encourage discussion, community building, and fun!
