“Oscilloscope is very pleased to make this powerful and deeply relevant 5 minute narrative short available to virtual audiences.

What happens if you call the Department of Justice to report an incident of violence? Who picks up the phone? DEPARTMENT OF INJUSTICE, from filmmakers Travis Wood and Chloe Gbai, fictionalizes that premise with a comment on the state of justice and accountability regarding police violence in America, in the wake of George Floyd’s death.

To contact the U.S. Department of Justice please dial 202-514-2000. If you are seeking justice for a victim of police violence, enter ext. #400.”

Carolyn’s note:  Back when I worked in DC on Capitol Hill, we used to refer to this Department as DOJ, during the Carter Administration and it was respected back then. Numerous other Presidents followed — Ronald Reagan, George Bush (father), Bill Clinton, George Bush (son), Barack Obama, now Donald Trump. And now it’s euphemistically called the “Department of Injustice”. Watch this hard hitting film to learn more, about how not to call the DOJ for assistance.
