In today’s episode of Sunday Square Off with Brahm Resnik, Arizona Senator Ruben Gallego spoke about the threat the Musk/Trump/Vance MAGA Central Committee poses to Arizonans on Medicaid and Social Security with their draconian budget-cutting moves that would disrupt social services and close rural hospitals while giving tax cuts and increased government subsidies to billionaires like Elon Musk who do not need them.

When asked to respond to concerns expressed at his Phoenix Protect Medicaid Town Hall with Senator Mark Kelly last week that Democrats need a strategy to push back against MAGA, Gallego said the strategy right now is to have town halls in Arizona and across the country to galvanize the people to protest and tell Republican representatives and Senators in swing districts and states not to support the dismantling of Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid plans of Musk/Trump/Vance
When asked to comment on the Alexandria Ocasio-Cotrez and Bernie Sanders rally at Arizona State University, Gallego, while expressing agreement with the themes of his colleague’s speeches, felt that the slogan “Fighting Oligarchy” sounded “Too professorial.”
He offered an alternative, “Don’t gut the poor to give money to Elon Musk” that he felt more people would understand.
He may have a point.
Some of these recent memes convey the same powerful message Gallego’s slogan conveys and no one would have a problem understanding them.
