A late calendar entry from the Dr. Richard Carmona for U.S. Senate campaign:

Carmona and Sen. Inouye to host veterans town hall today

Rich Carmona and Sen. Daniel Inouye will host a veterans town hall today at American Legion Post 41 in Phoenix.

Both veterans, Carmona and Inouye will address issues pertinent to the state's large veterans community.

Congressan Jeff Flake has repeatedly voted against bills that would directly benefit veterans, including the post-9/11 G.I. Bill, combat bonuses for active troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, and educational assistance and jobs training for post-9/11 veterans. Congressman Flake's repeated failure to support veterans has earned him an "F" from the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America.

Carmona is a combat-decorated Special Forces veteran who served in Vietnam and went to college and medical school on the GI Bill. Sen. Inouye is a World War II veteran and Medal of Honor recipient.

The event is open to the public and credentialed media.
