From Casa Maria:
As you know TUSD is facing a $17 million deficit this year and will have to make difficult financial decisions, one suggestion is to close small schools. Casa Maria has been working closely every day with poor families and homeless of South Tucson City and we considered that if TUSD decided to close Mission View Elementary and Ochoa Community Magnet Schools is a big injustice, because both schools serve the children and families of South Tucson.
Please come and support the South Tucson students and their public schools!
On Thursday October 4th from
6:00-7:30 p.m.
at El Casino Ballroom,
(SW corner of 26th St and 3rd Ave.)
we will ask TUSD school board members, and candidates what their stand is on closing small schools.
At the same time, we are going to celebrate the 90 year aniversary of both school, Ochoa and Mission View.
Biriria, Beans, rice, lemonade and culture will be provided free.
