A Night for The Living (to benefit mental wellness in Tucson)

October 28, 2023 @ 6:00 pm 9:00 pm MST

by Carolyn Classen, blogger

“WE’RE HAVING A PARTY!

On Saturday, October 28, Coyote TaskForce will host our Annual Fundraiser and Connie Hillman Family Foundation Challenge Grant capital campaign kickoff.

You’re invited to our 2023 fundraiser party featuring fabulous food from Café 54, signature cocktails, Dia de los Muertos-style face painting, amazing local music, raffles, and great company, all in support of our new initiative to create housing for our members and our ongoing mission to improve the lives of all individuals living with mental illness in Tucson and Pima County!

As we prepare for this next phase of our organization’s growth, we wanted to take the opportunity to celebrate the lives of everyone who’s helped build CTF into the community it is today, from our donors to our members to our customers and our staff—in honor and in memory of all of the wonderful people who have shaped this place that has helped so many.

Coyote TaskForce and our programs (Our Place Clubhouse and Café 54) have served the community for the past thirty-one years, providing much needed support to low income individuals recovering from mental illness through programs that offer employment assistance, skills training, and peer support.

This year we’re taking our efforts to a new level. In partnership with the Connie Hillman Family Foundation, Coyote TaskForce is launching a capital campaign with a target of raising over $675,000 over the next three years to create affordable housing options for our members. Safe, affordable, and stable housing is the single greatest factor in an individual’s ability to recover from mental illness and thrive. With your help, we can give this to those we serve.”

Carolyn’s note: Cafe 54 used to be my favorite lunch restaurant before the Covid pandemic. I am still on hiatus from PCCJC but ate at Cafe 54 recently (delicious salmon salad) and also dropped by Re-Treads thrift store to see if any bargains were there. Check them both out before this fundraiser.
