Ben Armentrout is the President of University of Arizona College Democrats, Vice President of Arizona College Democrats, and a Student Representative on the Arizona Democratic Party Progressive Council. After graduating from Duke University with a Bachelor of Science in Physics in 2024, he started his PhD at the University of Arizona Meinel College of Optical Sciences to do research on ultrafast laser systems in the fall of 2024. While working as the campus fellow for the Harris Walz campaign on campus, he realized that young people in Arizona were only being given a role in the political process as pawns, not as participants with the power to influence it. To give students the voice they deserve, Ben founded U of A College Dems, and is working to organize students on campus to build up their political power and use it to influence our elected officials to make the changes that his generation deserves.”
