Carolyn’s note: James was appointed on April 1, 2025 to this position and is now running for election.

“James W. Giacomino is the Clerk of the Superior Court in Pima County. Appointed by Governor Katie Hobbs on April 01, 2025, to complete the term of retiring Clerk of Superior Court Hon. Gary L. Harrison. James entered the public sector workforce at an early age and has quickly moved through the ranks to become the Clerk of the Court. His office currently oversees an operation of over 180 employees, at three locations, and administers an annual budget of over $13 million.
James hails from the small mining town of Bisbee, Arizona. He graduated from Bisbee High School and attended community college. While attending school James found work as an entry-level employee with the Cochise County Clerk of Superior Court. In 2011, he felt a change was needed and relocated to Tucson, where he began his career with Pima County. James started his career as a courtroom clerk and quickly promoted to Supervisor, then Division Director and was appointed Associate Clerk of Court in 2022. James’ quick professional journey shows his commitment to leadership not only to the employees he leads, but also to the constituents he has the amazing opportunity to represent, guide and assist, daily.”https://www.cosc.pima.gov/about/clerk-bio/
