Carolyn’s note: Dr. Ruiz is up against 2 term Az State Treasurer Kimberly Yee for Superintendent of Public Instruction in the General election on Nov. 3, 2026. Yee defeated the incumbent Supe Tom Horne in the Republican primary in July, 53% to 47%.
