TheDGT.org Presents Elizabeth Slater for Amphi School Board

“Join us for a conversation with Youth On Their Own CEO Elizabeth Slater, a candidate for the Amphi School Board, to discuss youth homelessness and how she sees her candidacy as connected to her mission of youth empowerment. As a youth advocate leading a nonprofit, Elizabeth focuses on high school graduation and the continued success of teens experiencing homelessness. Over the past two decades, Elizabeth has worked with youth in professional and volunteer capacities that have included education coach, health advocate, and safe housing proponent.

Elizabeth completed a decade of service with AmeriCorps, developing and evaluating dropout prevention programs for public schools. She has volunteered her time as a board member for the Amphi Foundation, raising funds to support district priorities, award classroom grants to teachers, and provide college scholarships to deserving students. She also volunteered with the LEAP Ahead for Amphi Committee, helping successfully advocate for bond and override measures that secured important funding for Amphi schools. Elizabeth is running for the Amphi School Board with the goal of increasing education access, supporting educator readiness and retention, and improving district transparency and family engagement.”
