Heat Relief Kit Outreach & Distribution

July 26 @ 8:00 am 10:00 am MST

by Carolyn Classen, blogger

Dear Community,

We hope this message finds you well. As Tucson faces the hottest months of the year, the City of Tucson in partnership with The Azara Branch and with support from Pima County’s Heat Mitigation Grant Program, invites you to take part in an important effort to help protect our most vulnerable neighbors.

We’re hosting two connected events to support our summer heat response, and we would love for you to join us:

Event 1: Heat Relief Kit Assembly (Open to Everyone)
Thursday, July 24, 2025 | 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
195 W Irvington Rd, Bldg. 15. Tucson Az 85714
Come help us pack kits with essential items like water, sunscreen, and hygiene supplies. This event is indoors; just bring a refillable water bottle and your willingness to help!

Event 2: Outreach & Distribution (Targeted Participants)
Saturday, July 26, 2025 | 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM
A smaller outreach activity will be carried out by trained volunteers and partners to deliver the kits to high-priority areas of the city.
If you’re interested in participating in this second event, please indicate so on the registration form. Participation is limited, and we will follow up separately.

One registration covers both events. Join us for one or both, depending on your availability and interest.

Thank you for being part of a community that shows up for one another. Together, we can reduce the risks of extreme heat and offer relief where it’s needed most. “
