Virtual public forum for vacancy for Justice of the Peace, Precinct 6

” The League of Women Voters of Greater Tucson will host a virtual public forum featuring the candidates for the vacancy for Justice of the Peace, Precinct 6, on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at 6 p.m.

There are five eligible candidates for the vacancy:

  • Morgan K. Miholich
  • Stephen Farley
  • Juan Francisco Padrés
  • John-Robert Wagner Granger Jr.
  • David Peter Miller

The Pima County Board of Supervisors intends to make the appointment to fill the vacancy at its meeting on May 6, 2025. The person appointed by the Board of Supervisors will serve through December 31, 2026. A Primary and General election will be held in 2026 and the candidate elected by the voters of Precinct 6 will serve the remainder of the term until December 31, 2028.”

Carolyn’s note: I recognize Stephen Farley, former LD 9 AZ State Senator (2013 to 2019), LD 28 AZ House Rep. (2007 to 2013) , who also ran for Governor of Arizona in August 2018, and Mayor of Tucson in August 2019. Juan Padres is the businessman/teacher candidate who ran for Ward 3 Council in August 2021 and for District 3 Pima County Supervisor in August 2020. The three others are political newcomers/lawyers.

UPDATE 5/6/25: Pima County Supervisors appointed attorney David Miller by 5-0 vote. The Court does need more attorney justices.
