Michael Buglewicz, candidate for Justice of the Peace in Precinct 4 at DGT

Michael Buglewicz has announced his primary candidacy for Justice of the Peace in District 4. (sic, Precinct 4). His goal is to put his 35 years of criminal justice experience to work to strengthen Pima County Magistrate Court. He believes his experience working within law enforcement has prepared him well to take on the responsibilities of a Justice of the Peace giving him a greater understanding of all sides and perspectives of legal matters when he assumes the bench representing District 4 (sic, Precinct 4). “I believe in always being honest, firm, fair, and respectful,” said Michael Buglewicz. “I will make decisions with integrity, impartiality, and compassion.”

Mr. Buglewicz’s experience includes the following:
• Corrections Officer, AZ. State Prison
• Corrections Officer, Pima County Jail
• Surveillance Officer, Pima County Adult Probation
• Deputy/Detective, Pima County Sheriff’s Department
• Accident Reconstruction Officer
• Motors Officer / School Resource Officer / Patrol Officer
• Detective/Fugitive Unit and Domestic Violence Task Force
• Hundreds of hours of advanced education and training

Michael has written policy and procedures for the Sheriff’s Department; organized and commanded an annual, multiple law enforcement agency Domestic Warrant Sweep, and teamed with the Pima County Attorney’s Office, Adult Probation, and Justice Court on projects. He is also the author of the P.R.O.T. E.C.T Program, an all-encompassing program for law enforcement, judicial courts, and Victim Services. Michael helped initiate two laws passed by the Arizona Legislature, and as part of that process, he testified before the state legislature and received acknowledgment by then Governor Ducey when he signed those bills into Arizona law. Michael is married with two children and 4 grandchildren.”

Carolyn’s note: Michael Buglewicz. is running in the Dem primary against long term incumbent JP Charlene Pesquiera, who is married to former PCDP Chair Paul Eckerstrom. Pesquiera was also a State Senator. The Arizona primary is on July 30, 2024 this year.
