University of Arizona Professor Dr. Paul Schuler will assess the state of democracy in the world by examining and interpreting global
democracy indicators. He will then discuss how democracy has eroded in countries like Venezuela, India, and Russia before using these cases to assess the strength of democracy here in the U.S.
Paul Schuler is an associate professor of political science at the
University of Arizona and associate director of the university’s School of Government and Public Policy. He is an expert on democratic and authoritarian institutions. “
