I saw Fed Up last week and certainly shared the intended takeaway: Our food industry is corrupt and is intentionally killing us. The movie is well worth seeing.
Here’s a takeaway I didn’t expect: Further confirmation of my belief that the Democrats are in the hip pocket of corporate America as deeply as the Republicans are.
The background here goes to the last Democratic Party dinner I attended, out of loyalty to an old friend. The dinner featured Amy Klobuchar, senior Senator from Minnesota, as the keynoter. After hearing her tell her life story, you would have been absolutely certain that she is the rare politician who is in it only to serve the greater good, and that she could not be brought to heel by special interests.
And based on what I saw in Fed Up, you’d have been dead wrong.
You see, a Minnesota corporation, Schwan, sells over half of that crappy pizza served in school lunchrooms. At the behest of Schwan, our good witch from the North, Amy, spearheaded action to ensure that pizza would continue to be defined as a “vegetable” under the nutritional guidelines applicable to schools.
At the end of the movie, guess whose name appeared on the list of those who refused to be interviewed? Yep, Sen. Klobuchar.
Did she know better? Did she know that by bending over for her corporate sponsor she was helping Big Food to continue turning our children into diabetics? It’s really hard to believe otherwise.

Yes Bob, making $ is more important that feeding our children healthy foods. I saw “Fed Up” and know the truth about soda as my older brother got diabetes in his 40’s from drinking too much soda every day for years. My comments about the movie: https://blogforarizona.net/are-you-fed-up-
Haven’t seen the movie, but must say I’m disappointed in what you related about Amy Klobuchar.
