PIMA COUNTY SUPERVISOR REDISTRICTING
PUBLIC HEARINGS ON COMMITTEE DRAFT MAP
Please attend a public hearing to provide comments on the Pima County Redistricting Advisory Committee's draft map. The committee was appointed by the Pima County Board of Supervisors to help redraw Supervisor District boundary lines based on updated U.S. Census figures.
According to state law, the supervisors must adopt new Supervisor District boundary lines by Dec. 1, 2011 and the boundaries must be redrawn so that no district has more than 10 percent more of the population than any other district. The committee has met five times and has developed a draft map. The committee has been asked to report to the Board of Supervisors by July 31, 2011 with its recommendations. The committee will hold a final public meeting on July 14, 2011 to finalize the map that they will recommend to the Board of Supervisors.
A Spanish interpreter and court reporter will attend the meetings. To arrange for a Tohono O'odham, Pascua Yaqui or sign language interpreter, contact Deseret Romero at (520) 740-8450 during business hours. For more on this redistricting process, go to www.pima.gov/redistricting.
