Frank Antenori and The Major

Posted by AzBlueMeanie:

Soap Sen. Frank Antenori (R-LD 30) more and more is sounding like The Major in the classic 1970's sitcom "Soap." The Major suffered from PTSD from World War II and his mind was lost living in his past during the war.

Antenori frequently uses references to the military and war in his comments, just like The Major did. Check out his latest delusional rant about the Arizona Independent Redistricting Commission from the Arizona Capitol Times (subscription required) Antenori calls out GOP lawmakers for being idle in redistricting battle:

Republican Sen. Frank Antenori, says his fellow GOP members need to get engaged in redistricting, and that he feels he’s the lone soldier in “the foxhole fighting this battle.”

In a phone interview today, Antenori said only a handful of Republican legislators are active on the redistricting front – and that frustrates him.

Antenori, an ex-Green Beret, said it’s like being back on the battlefront.

“I turn around and look and I got, you know, spent brass and grenade pins with me deep in the foxhole fighting this battle, and I turn around and there’s nobody there,” he said.

You're not a leader when you turn around and nobody is following you, Frank. That should tell you something.

If they ever remake Soap, Frank can star as The Major.
