“Free at-home COVID-19 tests
Every home in the U.S. can soon order 4 free at-home COVID-19 tests. The tests will be completely free—there are no shipping costs and you don’t need to enter a credit card number.
Ordering begins January 19.”

Carolyn’s note: more important than these at-home tests is the necessity of taking the vaccines to prevent the ongoing spread of this virus by human hosts. Go to vaccines.gov for availability in Arizona. Or call 1-800-232-0233 (TTY 1-888-720-7489).
Over the holidays we found out that some of our own family members are refusing the vaccine. I’ve now personally known 5 people in Arizona who have died from Covid, including former TUSD board member Michael Hicks. Over 25,000 have died from Covid in Arizona, now the leading cause of death in this state.

Got USPS email that our tests are to arrive on Jan. 27; this delivery is 9 days since we ordered them on Jan, 18. We have no covid symptoms, but good to have these just in case we do get exposed. Stay safe, everyone.
Woohoo, my daughter in law noticed that ordering began a day early, so we ordered them today. Let’s see how long USPS takes to deliver. Early bird gets the worm, eh?
http://www.covidtests.gov is the site.
The official response to my order says: “At-home COVID-19 tests will ship free starting in late January.” I won’t hold my breath.
It does say “COVID-19 tests will start shipping in late January. USPS will only send one set of 4 free at-home COVID-19 tests to valid residential addresses” after you place your order.
We really should have been ramped up testing back in early 2020, but we know how that went, DullSantis is pulling the same stunt in FLA now.
Testing is one of the ways South Korea kept things under relative control, while the virus had the run of the USA.
Still very easy to sign up and I’ll be glad to have them around. I suspect Omicron made the rounds with the family over the holiday but we couldn’t find at any home tests in our area.
Please rewrite your misleading headline for this posting. Consider:
1. Load on the ordering web site
2. Availability of actual tests and any backlog in manufacturing (has this been fixed?)
3. Possible shipping delays in these times
And rethink what it means to advertise that “tests will be available on January 19”.Yes, you can begin to order tests on January 19. When they will be available for shipping, and when they will arrive at one’s door, are going to be later than January 19, hence my terming your headline as “misleading”.

Believe they get delivered 7-12 days after ordering.
