The Tucson Repertory Orchestra started in July 2011 by Toru Tagawa and Linda Doughty Kneifel. Our mission is to create performance opportunities for highly skilled musicians in the Tucson area. We meet almost every month to play music that are classical standards such as Overtures and Symphonies by Beethoven, Brahms, Dvorak, Schubert, Schumann and Tchaikovsky. Musicians range from local professionals, university music students and music teachers. Musicians are invited by invitation only in order to keep the level of the orchestra, and create equal opportunity to play. All section rotates within the section; there are neither principals nor concertmaster chair. All readings are directed by Tucson Repertory Orchestra Conductor, Toru Tagawa.
