I'm not usually a defender of game show contestants, but in this case . . . “Million Dollar Money Drop,” give Gabe and Brittany their $800,000! They were right. You were wrong.
You can read the details yourself. Here's all that matters. The couple was asked, for $800,000, which was the first to be sold in stores, Sony Walkman or Post-It Notes? They answered, Post-It Notes, and lost.
Funny thing. Post-It Notes was the right answer.
So what did the show do? They said the couple could return to the show and try again. But they wouldn't get their $800,000.
Oh, and the excuse for the mistake? The producers said they had "incomplete information." No, guys, you were wrong.
Give them their money, damn it! And as a gesture of good will for the pain and suffering you put this couple through, offer to give another $100,000 to the charity of their choice.
