Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell on Thursday delivered President Obama the Borg Collective imperative: "We are the Borg. You will be assimilated. Your biological and technological distinctiveness will be added to our own. Resistance is futile."
In encounters with aliens the Borg exhibit no desire for negotiation or reason, only to assimilate.
Barely an hour after President Obama invited congressional Republicans to post-election talks to work together on major issues, the Senate's GOP leader had a blunt message: His party's main goal is denying Obama re-election. 'Move in our direction,' GOP leader tells Obama:
Sen. Mitch McConnell on Thursday called for Senate votes to repeal or erode Obama's signature health- care law, to cut spending and to shrink government.
"The only way to do all these things it is to put someone in the White House who won't veto any of these things," McConnell said in a speech to the conservative Heritage Foundation.
The Senate Republican leader's confrontational tone was in sharp contrast to the posture Obama took Wednesday in the face of a new GOP-controlled House and GOP gains in the Senate.

McConnell on Thursday indicated that the road to agreements is more like a one-way street.
"If the administration wants cooperation, it will have to begin to move in our direction," McConnell said.
And he spelled out a strategy for undermining Obama's health-care law, calling for repeated votes to repeal the measure.
"But we can't expect the president to sign it," he said. "So we'll also have to work, in the House, on denying funds for implementation, and, in the Senate, on votes against its most egregious provisions."
Well, the GOP-Borg Queen has spoken.
In Star Trek, attempts to resist the Borg become one of the central themes, with many examples of successful resistance to the Borg Collective, both from existing or former drones, and assimilation targets. It is also possible to survive assimilation (most notably Captain Jean-Luc Picard), and that drones can escape the collective (most notably Seven of Nine), and become individuals, or exist collectively without forced assimilation of others.
And as I recall, the Borg Queen is eventually destroyed in Star Trek: First Contact.
So no, Mitch, the resistance to your plutocratic corporate overthrow of our constitutional democratic Republic will go on. The resistance will grow stronger, and eventually you will be defeated.

It is quite interesting to look at the carnival mirror view of government when Democrats no longer hold a majority in the house. Interesting card you are playing here, the plutocracy card. In the old days this was labeled either the hate the rich or the tax the rich card.
As a Libertarian I want the Borg cube to be kept as small as possible. It makes little difference if the carpeting in the Borg cube is a bit redder than usual this cycle.
