GOP war on Voting: Nathan Sproul supervisor arrested for tossing Democratic voter registrations in Virginia

The Arizona Republic finally got around to reporting on Arizona's own GOP voter suppression specialist Nathan Sproul yesterday, and largely glossed over his misdeeds (frequent allegations, but never prosecuted by the Bush Injustice Department). Ariz. political operative in spotlight:

Sproul now finds himself making national political news again as
another of his voter-registration companies, Strategic Allied
Consulting, has been accused of submitting possible fraudulent
voter-registration forms to a number of Florida counties.

Keith Kameg, spokesman for Florida's Department of Law Enforcement,
declined to specify how many counties the allegations involve, saying
the case is an active criminal investigation that "precludes us from
providing further information."

Sproul was working on behalf of the Republican National Committee to
register voters to help Romney in a key battleground state. The GOP
committee last month fired Sproul, who said he's cooperating with
Florida authorities and blames the problem on a few rogue employees.
Sproul added the "number of counties and cards in question are
contracting."

Sproul said his company hires temporary workers at $12 to $17 an hour
to register Republicans by asking people outside libraries and other
public places who they support in the election. If the person supports
Romney, the worker asks if the person is registered to vote, and
registers them if they are not.

If the person supports Obama, the worker moves on without offering to register the individual to vote, Sproul said.

Sproul said his employees are trained on campaign- finance laws, and
he said his company has turned in employees who break the law.

Today Sproul's firm is in trouble for throwing away Democratic voter registrations in the state of Virginia, which fits the modus operandi of past allegations made in several states, including Arizona, since 2004. GOP voter registration scandal grows more serious:

What started as an isolated (sic) voter-registration controversy in Florida is quickly expanding — and becoming an ACORN-style headache for the Republican Party.

A man who was being paid to register voters by the Republican Party
of Virginia was arrested Thursday after he was seen dumping eight
registration forms into a dumpster.

Colin Small, 31, was working as a supervisor as part of a
registration operation in eight swing states financed by the Republican
National Committee. Small, of Phoenixville, Pa., was first hired by
Strategic Allied Consulting, a firm that was fired by the party after
suspect voter forms surfaced in Florida and other states.

The owner of a store in Harrisonburg, Va., told a local television
station that he became suspicious when he saw a car with Pennsylvania
plates dump an envelope in back of his store. He recovered the envelope
and alerted authorities.

Small was hired as a supervisor by Strategic Allied
Consulting, which happens to be owned by Nathan Sproul. And who's Nathan
Sproul? He's the Republican consultant with a lengthy record
of scandals and accusations of fraud, who was hired to oversee the
RNC's voter-registration efforts in swing states — right up until
Sproul's firm was caught allegedly submitting fraudulent voter registration forms in Florida.

What's more, before the RNC tries to blame Sproul's firm alone for hiring Small, let's note that the accused describes himself as a "grassroots field director for the Republican National Committee," though the RNC's Spicer denies this. It's not yet clear which of the two is telling the truth.

Also keep in mind, the L.A. Times reported
that Sproul "created Strategic Allied Consulting at the request of the
Republican National Committee because of the bad publicity stemming from
the past allegations." I've seen some reports that this is a "new"
Republican firm working with the state and national parties on
grassroots activities, but it would appear Strategic Allied Consulting
is new in name only.

It is time for this evil bastard to be prosecuted and to be permanently put out of business. The fact that his base of operations is here in Arizona suggests that he is being protected by the GOP establishment from prosecution. Attorney General Tom Horne and Secretary of State Ken Bennett are unlikely to do so.

UPDATE: Ruh-Roh! It gets worse. It turns out the Arrested vote fraud suspect worked for RNC:
