In late October, The Philanthropy Roundtable honored Charles G. Koch as its 2011 recipient of the William E. Simon Prize for Philanthropic Leadership with a luncheon at The Phoenician in Scottsdale. A luncheon honoring Charles G. Koch today – tell him what you really think of him!

The annual Goldwater Institute Dinner will honor Governor Scott Walker this Thursday beginning at 5:30 p.m. Here is the announcement (Warning: you are going to need a barf bag). 2011 Goldwater Dinner featuring Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker | Goldwater Institute.

I understand that protestors are organizing on social media. Tell the governor of Fitzwalkerstan how you feel about the GOP war on organized labor and working people.

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports that a Republican campaign contributor cynically filed a recall effort on Friday against Gov. Scott Walker, triggering a powerful tool for the GOP leader: unlimited campaign fundraising — the very thing for which the evil Goldwater Institute advocates to undermine our democracy. First recall effort launched against Walker, triggering unlimited fundraising – JSOnline:

The effect of the filing is to give Walker an extra week and half to raise campaign contributions with no limits that can be used to help defend against a more serious recall attempt against the governor scheduled to begin on Nov. 15. Friday's petition was filed by David Brandt of Muskego in Waukesha County. Brandt is a modest contributor to Walker and the state Republican Party.

In the filing with the state Government Accountability Board, Brandt wrote cryptically that he was registering a recall committee – Close Friends to Recall Walker – to "fulfill my friend's last request."

In Wisconsin, gubernatorial candidates normally can't raise more than $10,000 from a single contributor during a four-year election cycle. But a quirk in state law removes those limits during the first part of recall elections.

Groups like United Wisconsin and the state Democratic Party are starting their recall Walker efforts on Nov. 15. Those groups are angry over Walker's agenda, including his legislation repealing most union bargaining for most public employees.

To succeed in forcing a recall election of the Republican governor, organizers must gather 540,000 signatures in 60 days.

Phone messages left at Brandt's home were not returned. In the handwritten form, he listed himself as the committee's treasurer and said he should be exempt from filing campaign finance reports because the committee would not raise more than $1,000 in a calendar year. That small amount of funding would make it impossible to collect and organize a half million signatures.

United Wisconsin has announced that the "official" recall petitions against Scott Walker will launch on November 15. A United Wisconsin to Recall Scott Walker | Recall Scott Walker:

Yesterday a Republican group called “Close Friends to Recall Walker” filed a petition to launch a fake recall effort against Scott Walker to trigger his unlimited fundraising ability two weeks early.

The group’s leader has a history of donating to Walker and the Republican Party of Wisconsin, and it is clear that this is just another attempt by Walker to trick the people of Wisconsin and adds to the laundry list of his unethical and dishonorable moves.

This does not change our plan. United Wisconsin and the hundreds of thousands of you who stood up to pledge your intentions to recall Walker will do so November 15.

It is important for the supporters of the real effort to remove Walker from office remain focused and not sign any recall petition until November 15.

Fight back against this blatant attempt to confuse and muddle the recall process by encouraging your friends and family to take action with you – sign the pledge, sign up to volunteer, or make a contribution to fuel our efforts.

United Wisconsin, We Are Wisconsin, and other organizations will rally on Saturday, November 19th in Madison on the Capitol Steps to Stand up for our values and recall Governor Walker and  Lt. Governor Kleefisch. Events kick off at 11a.m, rally begins at 1pm. To volunteer for the rally, please sign up at: http://www.wisdems.org/madisonrally.
