Huckabee tells me he needs $65,000 to run a “repeal health care” ad in my district

by David Safier

I just got a personal call from Mike Huckabee — if by "personal," you mean listening to his actual voice recorded and robocalled to who-knows-how-many homes. In that marching-as-to-war voice of his, Huckabee told me we have to repeal the health care act, and he wants to circulate all kinds of petitions in my area. Oh, and he needs $65,000 to put ads on the air here to tell everyone the horrors of the health care bill.

I had to press one to get my name put on the petition and two if I didn't want it there. When I did nothing, a computer voice that shouldn't have been there gave the name and code number of the call, or something like that. I suppose if I pushed one, a live fundraising voice would have come on the phone and tried to reach into my wallet.
