Hypocrite: Alex Kolodin has No Problem with Early Voting as Long as it is for Him and His Supporters

Despite all the bull fecal matter uttered by Arizona Secretary of State Republican Nominee Alex Kolodin about restricting the times available for voters to cast their ballots, he has no problem with the practice… as long as he and the people voting for him are allowed to do it.

It did not take long for Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fonte’s re-election campaign to respond to Kolodin’s hypocrisy, releasing a statement highlighting all the times Kolodin supported measures to make early voting harder for people.

  • HB2099 (2023): Requires all voting to be conducted at election precincts and caps the number of registered voters authorized per precinct at 1,500 registered voters. Prohibits the use of electronic voting devices in AZ elections.
  • HB2547 (2024): Prohibits the Board of Supervisors from authorizing the use of voting centers, removes language allowing a County Recorder to establish on-site early voting locations, and limits the size of election precincts to a maximum of 1,000 registered voters.
  • HB2099 (2025): Requires precinct-only voting, caps precincts at 1,500 voters, bans electronic voting devices.
  • HB2100 (2025): Requires Election Day in-person precinct voting and mandates hand counting of all ballots.
  • HB2304 (2025): Bans countywide voting centers.
  • HCR2016 (2026): Would have ended vote centers and on-site early voting.

In the press release, Secretary Fontes noted:

“Alex Kolodin just proved early voting works by using it himself. After years of trying to take that freedom away from other Arizonans, his hypocrisy is staggering. But what else would you expect from a man with a long record of lying and misrepresenting facts?”

Fontes and his team followed up that release with the below social media post:

Like Donald Trump, Alex Kolodin wants to enjoy all the privileges of Democracy, including early and mail-in voting while restricting it for those who do not support them.

Not the perspective Arizonans should want in the person overseeing elections in the Grand Canyon States.
