If 100,000 people protest, but the corporate media does not report it… did it really happen?

On Saturday afternoon, more than 100,000 people gathered in Madison, Wisconsin to protest Gov. Scott Walker's coup d'etat over union collective bargaining rights, and to welcome home the "Wisconsin 14" who nobly fought to prevent this miscarriage of justice.

You read about it online, including here, and there was some print reporting in newspapers. But it was largely ignored by the blow-dried pretty boys and girls of the television "lamestream" media.

To quote Heather at crooksandliars.com, "Maybe if we got them to wear tea bags on their heads and show up in their Medicare funded Scooters the media will start to pay attention to them — or not."

The largest protest in Wisconsin history was larger than any of the billlionaire bastard Koch brothers-funded Tea Party corporate front group Astroturf rallies that the corporate "lamestream" media has fetishized over for the past two years. Wisconsin protests larger than any Tea Party rally:

Police estimated that more than 100,000 people flooded the streets around the Wisconsin Capitol in Madison Saturday, making the turnout larger than any of the fledgling Tea Party's rallies. The largest turnout for a Tea Party rally is the estimated crowd of 60,000 to 70,000 people who marched in Washington, D.C. during the group's September 12, 2009 demonstration.

The Rising in Wisconsin is a true grassroots movement, not an Astroturf event put on by the corporate media's advertising sponsors/partners. There is no money to be made in reporting on the rights of working people, because they don't have any corporate sponsors.

If the corporate media does not report it … did it really happen? You betcha! And The Rising is coming to a city near you.
