House Republicans in Congress know their “Big and Beautiful” Budget and Tax bill is really a big and ugly fiscal busting one, complete with cruel cuts to programs that feed people and make them healthier all so the rich can reap the benefits with massive tax cuts they do not need.
That is why they, after having a rare Sunday evening vote where four Extreme MAGA Conservatives switched their no votes to present on the House Budget Committee so their monstrous budget and tax bill could go through while people were not paying attention at the end of the weekend.
Now, Speaker Mike Johnson wants to have the House Rules Committee meet at 1:00 a.m. Wednesday Morning while most of the country is sleeping to have his MAGA members, in the cover of darkness, move their 2025 version of the Hunger Games to the House floor for a full vote by Thursday so they can bolt for Memorial Day Weekend.
If the MAGA Budget and Tax Legislation was really “A Big Beautiful Bill,” why have the Budget Committee vote on a Sunday evening? Why have the Rules Committee vote on it at 1:00 A.M. when most of the country is sleeping?
Commenting on the Republican cruelty and cowardice, Arizona House Congressional District Three Representative Yassamin Ansari stated in the below social media video:
“Last night, the budget committee was meeting at 10 o’clock at night, where Republicans voted to take away health care from more than 13 million people, and I really want to emphasize that millions of more people will lose Healthcare coverage because hospitals and clinics, especially in the rural areas, will have to shut down without Medicaid, and so millions more Americans will lose their access to health care. Now, the budget is going to be going to the rules committee this Wednesday at 1:00 am and what is absolutely crazy about that and has just been the theme of how Republicans are operating this Congress is the fact that it’s at 1:00am. They want people to not be paying attention, and for all of the horrific things that they’re doing to not be covered in the news, and so, they’re holding these committee meetings in the dead of night because it’s so awful.…Need people to pay attention. Need people to speak up because it’s horrific. It’s like The biggest transfer of wealth from the poorest people in this country to the richest people in this country And the fact that all of these cuts are happening simply so that a few rich guys can get richer and get massive tax breaks that they don’t need is unacceptable…We’re not going down without a fight. We’re going to keep this up. Mike Johnson thinks he’s going to pass this thing this week, but we will do everything we can to continue to make it clear to Americans, especially those in these people’s districts that Republicans are cutting Medicaid. They’re taking away your food assistance. They’re going after your health and well-being, and all of that to give tax breaks to billionaires of this country.“

Called Juan Ciscoman’s office in Tucson to plead case that we can’t afford to increase debt. I explained to the young woman (my guess) who took call that her future Social Security and Medicare are at risk.
I suggested that “moderate” Republicans (at least on fiscal issues) work with moderate Democrats to come up with a bipartisan solution.
Both Republican and Democratic moderates need to explain to their voters the difficult choices that need to be made to put our fiscal house in order.
It won’t come from MAGA or the extreme left.
The woman never interrupted and seemed sincere in listening to my arguments and hopefully passes on my comments.
