In Memoriam: Bob Bland, Cochise County Democratic Party Chair

It is with sadness that I post about the untimely death of Bob Bland, Cochise County Democratic Party Chair. When I last spoke to Bob he was planning a cross-country drive to visit his mother back East and visit friends and family along the way. Then came the e-mail that he had fallen ill and had been hospitalized in El Paso, TX, shortly into his trip. Yesterday I was surprised to learn of his death.

Bob was an indefatigable organizer and campaigner for Democratic Party causes. Whenever you thought you had done as much as you can, Bob was always a reminder that you could do just a little bit more. I always enjoyed his good humor and sense of optimism. Bob's untimely death is a great loss to all who knew him. I will miss you, my friend.
