(UPDATED) In Moves That Will Only Make China Great Again, Manchurian Candidate Trump Shuts Down Wind Power Projects

In his quest to turn the clock back to the 1920’s when the oil industry was virtually the only energy game in town after Henry Ford and the automotive industry dumped the prospects of mass producing electric cars (yes, they existed then,) Donald Trump has continued his war on clean energy science by inexplicably shutting down off shore wind projects on the Nation’s East Coast.

In recent instances, like the one involving a wind power project called Revolution Wind off Rhode Island’s Coast, the construction project was mostly completed and projected to provide power to 350,000 Rhode Island and Connecticut homes by the spring of 2026.

These cancellations have imperiled the financial status of national and global contractors, threatened thousands of good paying blue and green collar jobs, raised the utility costs for Working and Middle Class Americans in the area, and jeopardized the long term economic strength of the United States while opening the door for nations like China to dominate the clean energy arena.

Trump really is the Manchurian Candidate President.

Trump’s war on clean energy, especially wind, has been consistent since he first declared his candidacy for the Oval Office in 2015.

Through the last ten years, he has spun many lies on why wind power is bad for the planet.

Among the falsehoods the Know Nothing Climate Denying Liar in Chief has spread about wind power is:

  • It is expensive: Wrong. Third Way Climate and Energy published this graph from American Clean Power which shows the electric prices in the top ten renewable energy states were going down while the top ten that had no renewable strategy were going up.
  • It harms whales and kills birds: Wrong again.
  • The turbines have to be replaced every eight years. It is actually between 20 and 25.
  • They are made in China. That is actually true and you can blame energy reactionaries like Trump for that one because they are ceding the industry to the Chinese and other nations.
  • It kills humans. Do not even go there.
  • Smart Country’s do not use it: Actually 136 do, including the United States, even in Red States like Texas.
  • With the cancelling of the wind power projects off Rhode Island, Trump’s team claimed National Security concerns. As of today, they have not said what they were.

Maybe what these companies that invested in these projects need to do is give Trump, his government agents, and his family a kickback.

It worked for Intel.

On what Trump has done to Rhode Island and Connecticut community’s, those state leaders held a press event to condemn the Know Nothing American Duce Wannabe’s actions.

Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy posted:

Rhode Island Senator Sheldon Whitehouse posted:

At a cabinet meeting today, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, the walking poster board of science denialism, praised Trump for cancelling the wind power projects, echoing his lies about the expense and the harm to whales.

Arizona House Representative Yassamin Ansari posted this in reaction to Kennedys sycophantic rant.

Arizona Representative Greg Stanton offered:

“Let’s call this what it really is: a manufactured energy crisis — and you’ll be the one paying for it. Trump’s plan to block all wind and solar projects will send energy prices soaring for American families.”

Arizona Senator Ruben Gallego wrote on social media:

“Trump loves to talk about jobs. But his stop-work order on Revolution Wind just fired 1,000 skilled construction workers mid-project. Enough energy to power 350,000 homes. 80% complete. Thrown away by this admin.”

Fortunately, most analysts feel that while Trump’s ludicrous policies will hinder the number of advances in clean energy like in electric cars and wind power, he can not totally put the clean energy genie back in the lamp.

Progress will continue albeit at a slower pace.

Democrats are ready for the time when they return to power to unveil their own energy policies, many of them dedicated to bringing new life into the clean energy sector that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris breathed into with sound policies in their term.

Democrats believe in tomorrow, lower electric bills, and making the planet cleaner and safer while helping lift people up.

Republicans believe in yesterday, higher electric bills, making the world dirtier and sicker while pushing people down.

This is really not a tough call on which party to support in the coming elections.
