In Praise of Yahoos

In the GOP Chairperson race, Democrats have a candidate. Randy Pullen.

Pullen is the guy we want running the GOP in Arizona.

Why? Because we want a yahoo to be in charge of the opposing team. Pullen is as movement conservative as they come. He’s a big Graf/Prop 200 supporter who is clearly bent about the RNCC pitching to Huffman and will get even more bent when the national party accepts a compromise with Democrats on immigration. He’s likely to impair the state party’s relationship with national with recriminations over those sour grapes.

Even better, he’s likely to try to influence primaries in favor of ‘grassroots’ (read ‘wacked-out right-winger’) candidates, whom the electorate are likely to despise, just like they despised Hayworth, Jorgensen, and Melvin this cycle. This gives Democrats a much easier ride down the middle in Arizona.

And he’s not too scrupulous to stoop to stealing an election here or there. And he’s stupid enough to get caught doing it. Thumbs up in my book. Stupid crooks are the best kind. Added bonus points: he crossed Mike Hellon in committing his little fraud on his own party, so his own moderates are likely to despise him, too.

Really, it just couldn’t get any better for us than Chairman Pullen. Do whatever you can to help his campaign, he’s going to need it. Seriously. Write letters to the editor, call your crazy Republican uncle who thinks we’re winning in Eye-Rack and tell him how great Pullen is. Whatever. You are all devious little liberals. Show some initiative and sow some discord.
