Internal Democratic poll has Jonathan Rothschild up big

An internal Democratic poll by Global Stategy Group conducted October 10-12, 2011 has Democratic mayoral candidate Jonathan Rothschild up big.

Democratic Mayoral candidate Jonathan Rothschild has a 17-point lead over Republican candidate Rick Grinnell as voting is about to begin.

Rothschild garnered 49 percent of the 400 city voters surveyed from Oct. 10 to Oct.12, while Grinnell was supported by 32 percent of those polled. The Democratic Party was viewed favorably by 54 percent of the sample, while 39 percent viewed the GOP favorably.

“What we’re seeing is strong support for sensible, pragmatic leadership that Jonathan Rothschild will provide,” said Pima County Democratic Party Chairman Jeff Rogers. “The voters have seen what Republicans have to offer with Tea Party talk and Tucson isn't buying it.”

The margin of error associated with a sample size of 400 is 4.9% at the 95% confidence interval.
