We’re very pleased to announce that Arizona’s own Arnie Bermudez will begin posting his editorial cartoons on BlogForArizona every Monday! (We hope!)

I’ll let Arnie introduce himself to the BlogForArizona.net community:
“I was born in Yuma, AZ and raised by a field worker and cleaning lady, I live in Tucson where I moved to go to college.
I grew up on both sides of the border living in two cultures and speaking two languages. I attended the University of Arizona and graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts. In my college years I worked for the school newspaper The Daily Wildcat. During my time at the Wildcat I worked as a cartoonist writing and drawing a daily cartoon strip called Sarape’s Grill which ran for 4 years and was a semi-finalist in the MTVU college cartoonist contest.
About then, I also began freelancing with The Tucson Citizen Newspaper providing them with illustrations and political caricatures. Eventually, my freelancing lead to full-time employment with the Citizen where I enjoyed working as a staff artist and being the youngest member of the editorial board for 2 years, until the demise of the paper During these years I produced a weekly cartoon strip as well as countless graphics, illustrations and caricatures for the oldest continuously published newspaper in Arizona, until 2009. Currently, I am a freelance illustrator/
Welcome, Arnie! We scribblers here at BlogForArizona.net are excited to see your beautiful artwork! And see just how sharp your pen can be!

Welcome aboard, Arnie. Been missing you since that one year (2008) when I was a guest columnist at the Tucson Citizen, where you were a cartoonist. So now we are on a media source together again.
Any Daily Wildcat cartoonist is great to me!!
great news, congrats, arnie – the hands are entirely too large, though.
